The development of shipping stimulated the economic of Kazakhstan, attracted new shipping territories, strengthening the commodity economy. Thanks to waterways and existing transport networks, which became increasingly important, conditions were gradually created for storing local markets and their integration into regional ones, as well as in connection with participation in the all-Russian market. The vastness of the Kazakh lands, the absence of an extensive network of land roads have identified the priority value of water transport. Currently, we often communicate with hard-to-reach areas. In this situation, large rivers were concentrated. One such important region was East Kazakhstan. New studies of archival data have made it possible to consider the enormous contribution to the development of water transport in the republic, which is closely related to the development of trade, the development and involvement of new territories rich in natural resources on the borders of Kazakhstan.
