At the current stage of the development of linguistic sciences, when the problems of language as a form and environment of human activity remain the focus of scientists’ attention, any study of discourse in a specific sphere of human activity can reveal a new side in already known linguistic phenomena. Therefore, this article is devoted to the definition of the concept of discourse, as well as this work considers the place of discourse in the field of linguistics, the concept of "family discourse" is revealed. Particular attention is paid to the identification of essential characteristics of this phenomenon.A person is not only an object of discourse, but also a participant in it.
