The article discusses interstate relations on the issue of countering terrorism, drug trafficking and strengthening regional security. The article reveals mechanisms of bilateral and multilateral initiatives, including the activities of the CSTO, SCO, and CICA as exemplary mechanisms in ensuring regional security. At the same time, the article outlines main challenges to regional security, the fight against which requires close cooperation between states and unity of efforts of regional players
