This article discusses the discussions of 1920-1930 about the nature, causes and consequences of the 1916 uprising. It also analyzes the activities and positions of the national intelligentsia during the uprising, in particular the discussion held in the Komvuz of name Goloshchekin in the 1931 which was organized by the Kazakh Regional Committee of the party on the anniversary of the 15 th anniversary of the uprising.
