The article discusses the need for a practice-oriented approach in the preparation of future physics teachers. Various interpretations of the practice-oriented approach in training are discussed. Features of its implementation in the practice of training future teachers. The role of implementation of the practice-oriented approach in the formation of research skills of students – future teachers is considered. Formation of research skills in the conditions of digitalization of education with the help of information and communication technologies. The topic of electron movement in the Coulomb field of proton is analyzed. it contains interesting materials for a variety of forms of activity aimed at the formation and development of generalized and significant research skills for students. One of the variants of the conditions for the formation of students ' activities in practical classes in the discipline of physics of the atom, atomic nucleus and solid state is presented. It is revealed that research skills can be formed only in the process of cognitive activity of the subject of educational activity.
