The implementation in the Republic of Kazakhstan of the updated content of secondary education has revealed several problems associated with improving the managerial functions of school leaders. An updated education system requires a new management paradigm, new management methods and the introduction of modern management theory. This article discusses the relevance of the problem of the formation of readiness of school principals to the new requirements of the 21st century. The article also presents the results of a pedagogical study devoted to various types of intra-school control, competencies and skills of school principals.
