Breastfeeding techniques that are not mastered by the mother will have an impact on the mother, such as mastitis, lumpy breasts, sore nipples, while babies do not want to breastfeed, which results in the baby not getting enough milk. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of the behavior of post-partum mothers regarding breastfeeding techniques that were treated in the Sekarwangi Hospital, Sukabumi. The methodology of research who used a descriptive survey research, with a total sample of 54 postpartum mothers. The research instrument adapted Nursalam's (2016) lactation management observation sheet. The data analysis conducted by researchers was descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis showed that most of the respondents had bad behavior about breastfeeding techniques, namely as many as 37 peoples (68.5%). The conclusion of this study shows that the behavior of post-partum mothers about breastfeeding techniques that are treated in the Sekarwangi Hospital is not good. So that nurses are expected to further enhance their roles as caregivers, educators and counselors for postpartum mothers related to proper and correct techniques of breastfeeding.
ABSTRAKTeknik menyusui yang tidak dikuasai oleh ibu akan berdampak pada ibu seperti mastitis, payudara bergumpal, putting sakit, sedangkan pada bayi dapat dipastikan bayi tidak mau menyusui yang berakibat bayi tidak akan mendapatkan ASI cukup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran perilaku ibu nifas tentang teknik menyusui yang dirawat gabung di RSUD Sekarwangi Kabupaten Sukabumi. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian survey yang bersifat deskriptif, dengan jumlah sampel 54 orang ibu nifas. Instrumen penelitian mengadaptasi lembar observasi manajemen laktasi Nursalam (2016). Analisa data yang dilakukan oleh peneliti adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukan sebagian besar responden berperilaku kurang baik tentang teknik menyusui yaitu sebanyak 37 orang (68.5%). Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perilaku ibu nifas tentang teknik menyusui yang dirawat gabung di RSUD Sekarwangi kurang baik. Sehingga perawat diharapkan dapat lebih meningkatkan perannya sebagai caregiver, edukator dan konselor terhadap ibu nifas terkait teknik menyusui yang baik dan benar.
