Nutrition is considered to be an important component in the life of an individual. India is still a home for considerable number of vulnerable people who do not have access to proper nutrition which in turn gives birth to number of health problems. The issue has not been dealt elaborately in the public life because of its apparent invisible nature. The lack of access to proper food containing micronutrient lead to the difficulties like stunted growth, Wasting and underweight. The prevalence of hunger in India is not found uniformly. It is the rural population which suffers the burden of hunger more than their urban counterparts as the fruits of the development registered in the last few decades have not been equitably distributed. This article is an attempt to discuss the different aspects of nutrition in the context of rural health.
