Neurosurgery is a surgical specialty, which concerns all the pathological affections of the nervous system. Nowadays, this discipline is in constant development. The surgery of the nervous system is the most known definition (15.2%), followed by the surgery of the brain (13.8%), the surgery of the brain and the spine (6%), the surgery of the head and the skull (6%) and the surgery of the brain and nerves (5.2%). In this presentation, we are reviewing the different steps of development of Neurosurgery in Morocco, especially in Agadir. Furthermore, we are demonstrating the importance of the new University Hospital in developing neurosurgical techniques and procedures to train new neurosurgeons in Morocco and possibly Africa. Finally, we are emphasizing the role of this Institution in enhancing research and teaching, particularly in Neurosurgery.
