This article reveals the patterns of architecture development on the territory of large cities of north-eastern Kazakhstan in the XVIII-XIX centuries: from the creation of fortifications to the formation of commercial and industrial cities; architectural, artistic, and functional planning features of certain types of public buildings and structures are considered.
