The paper aims to outline the historical contingencies shaping Romanian literature written by women during the interwar and especially the postwar periods. In this pursuit, certain theoretical foundations are provided by the theories of authorship and subjectivity associated with Michel Foucault, Louis Althusser and Judith Butler. Finally, a series of quantitative analyses are presented as material support for the varying degrees and aims of marginalization of literature written by women.
