The article examines the principles and peculiarities of theimplementation of American and European models of quality assurance inhigher education. As a result, similarities and differences were identifiedbetween the studied models and quality assurance processes in the Republicof Armenia. According to the results of this research, the main similaritiesamong the models are in identifying and meeting the needs and requirementsof stakeholders, the vision of managers, their managerial abilities and skills,the application of the principle of continuous quality improvement in variousprocesses, strengthening and developing cooperation and encouragingemployees. The differences among the studied models are mainly related tothe peculiarities of the field of higher education quality assurance in a givencountry, some principles and approaches to the implementation of themodels. Unlike the studied models, in Armenia special attention is paid to theunits of measurement of the results of the processes - key performanceindicators (KPI) or quality assurance indicators (QPI) in the context of qualityassurance, since the performance of entities depends on them.
