Long-term outcomes of combined right thoracoscopic esophagectomy and laparotomy for esophageal cancer

: To assess the long-term outcomes of combined right thoracoscopicesophagectomy and laparotomy for esophageal cancer.Material and Methods: Prospective and retrospective study from Janury 2010 to December 2017 at 108 Military Central Hospital.Results: Right thoracoscopicesogphagectomy combined with laparotomy was performed in 71 patients with esophageal cancer, included 17 patients with preoperative chemoradiotherapy. Mean age was 55,8 ± 8,3, all are male, Stage 0 was 4,2 %, stage I was14,1%, stage II 59,2%, stage III was 22,5%. A mean follow-up were 21,7 months, anastomosis stricture was 23,2%, local recurrence was 10,1%, metastasis was 24,6%. Over survival rate at 1-year, 2-year, 3-year, 4-year survival were 79,7%, 62,3%, 52,3% and 43,6%, respectively.Conclusion: Combined thoracoscopic esophagectomy and laparotomyfor esophageal cancer is effective, even minimally invasive procedure but assuse to follow the principles of treatment of cancer.Keywords: Thoracosopic esophagectomy, esophageal cancer.
