One of the forms of teaching physics and astronomy at a university can be practical work using modern open scienticdata. Based on the proposed methodology, the student can make an interesting, modern, relevant research work. As anexample of such practical work, it is proposed to estimate the asteroid-comet hazard – the frequency of asteroids and largemeteorites falling to the Earth by counting craters on the surface of the Moon and Mercury.
