This paper aims to debate Olavo Bilac as a modern chronic writer, pointing out how his written style made him a “journalist of the streets” out of a “poet of the starts”. Through his chronicles it is possible to perceive how the impact caused by modernization and modern model, as captured by Olavo Bilac, affected society and people minds from the 19th and 20th Centuries.
