Extension Project, which is being, carried out by the Information Science Department of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in partnership with Prefeitura Municipal de Florianópolis (City Hall), trough the Administration Secretary, and the Municipal Historic Archive. Documents and manuscripts which comprehend period between 1714 to 1880. This material is treated in relation to this conservation, preservation, restoration and paleographic transcription. The bad conditions of conservation due, not only, to the human action, but also, to the insects and the improper storage environment. Promoted a better knowledge sharing among the institutions, and increase the students in theoretical background on information
