Open AccessThe Praktikum project is an innovative experience carried out at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) with 17-years-old students that have taken a course of Technology in the High School period. Students are chosen from all the Valencia region attending to their marks in their first year of High School. This note explains the activities carried out in the frame of this program in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of the UPV. During a week, a student was guided by the university professors of this department in the fields of maintenance and calculation of electrical machines and domestic electrical installations. The automated control of them was also introduced to the student.
