Data mining has attracted a great deal of attention in the information industry in recent years due to the wide availability of huge amounts of data and the imminent need for turning such data into useful information and knowledge. An important topic in data mining research is concerned with the discovery of association rules. This paper focused on the data mining techniques, application areas of data mining. This paper also studies the importance of association rules and various algorithms for generating association rules.
