An I.C. engine cylinder fins is one of the important automobile components. It is subjected to very high temperature variations and thermal stresses. It is found that by increasing the surface area of fins there is increase in heat dissipation rate. The main aim of this work is to analyze the thermal properties of fins by varying its geometry, fin material and thickness of fins. In order to improve the cooling rate and sustainability of the engine, heat dissipation has to be carried out quickly and in a very efficient way. In this study composite material, different geometry of fins and modelling is carried out in SOLIDWORKS and analysis in ANSYS software by use of CFD.
