Isoxazolemotif containing heterocyclic compounds are important for their wide range of biological activities. Therefore, in the present article, I report a convenient and green protocol for the synthesis of 4-arylmethylidene-3-substituted-isoxazol-5(4H)-ones by the one pot three component reaction of aldehydes, β-keto ester and hydroxylamine hydrochloride catalyzed by Dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP). 1 (a-i) 2(a-b) 3 (4a-f), (5a-i)Scheme 1: Reagent and conditions:(i) Dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP), H2O (5 mL), 70- 800C, 6 to 25 min.
