This study aims to analyze and compare the tourism sector in Algeria with the tourism sector in Tunisia through tourist indicators (human influx, number of tourist nights, hotel capacity for both countries during the period selected “1990-2014”, and also the comparison in terms of the global ranking of the report issued by the World Economic Forum “WEF” and the report of the World Tourism and Travel Board “WTTC”). The study concluded that Tunisia can improve its competitiveness while Algeria is still in place, this is due to the policy of marginalization adopted by the Algerian state and its dependence on the oil wealth and there is no real intention to advance this sector.
