The word as a spiritual unit has lexical andgrammatical semantics. Lexicologyconsiders a word as a unit of the lexicalcontent of a language, making lexicalsemantics, the basic unit of the lexicalmeaning of a word, its main object of study. The lexical semantics of a word refers to therelativity of a word to certain events inreality, taking into account the informationreflected in the denotative (that is, thespecific content, the main meaning of thelinguistic unit) contained in the word. Thus, the lexical meaning of a word, on the onehand, combines the non-linguistic content ofthe word (i.e. denatations) and thecharacteristics of the word represented bythis word, including its emotional colors andexpressiveness
