Giftedness and identity are the two social phenomena that are of great importance for the formation and development of every human being. In real life and in educational practice they accompany each other, yet until present they have not crossed in scientific research. The Journal “Social Phenomena” is launching a series of publications on the questions of interconnection between identity and giftedness. In this issue diverse approaches to the problem of schoolchildren’s identity formation are presented, including the perspectives opening the possibility for the development of a new theoretical paradigm.
