ACTIVITY OF THE MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS А.A. ZAKREVSKY ON ENSURING EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SAFETY IN THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE

В статье рассматривается система мероприятий, реали-зованных А.А. Закревским на посту министра внутренних дел Российской импе-рии по предотвращению эпидемий и стабилизации эпидемиологической ситуа-ции в стране.Авторы, исходя из того, что высокая смертность населения Российскойимперии в начале XIX в. объясняется распространением инфекционных заболе-ваний, когда болезни выкашивали население целых населенных пунктов, счи-тают, что обращение к изучению этой проблематики способствует лучшемупониманию причин и смысла тех политических и социальных катаклизмов,которые были связаны, в том числе, и с распространением эпидемий в Россиив обозначенный период. The article discusses the system of measures implemented by A.A. Zakrevskyas Minister of internal Affairs of the Russian Empire to prevent the spread of choleraand stabilize the epidemiological situation in the country.The authors, proceeding from the fact that the high mortality rate of the populationof the Russian Empire at the beginning of the XIX century is explained by the spread of infectiousdiseases, when diseases mowed down the population of entire settlements, theybelieve that turning to the study of this problem contributes to a better understanding ofthe causes and meaning of those political and social cataclysms that were associated,among other things, with the spread of epidemics in Russia during the indicated period.
