Fax machines are still extremely vital in confidential and important official communications. Today, even with more sophisticated forms of communication such as Email, Short Message Service, Instant Messaging, and video conferencing etc, fax machines are very essential information and telecommunications technology equipment in everyday official functions. This paper describes how a fax machine- an old Information and Communications Technology product could be used with a new communication method i.e. SMS that would enhance public service and especially during emergency.
