The paper deals with the main contributions to Bulgarian linguistics made by Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin. The authors highlight his innovative methods of research in Modern Standard Bulgarian and his understanding of the grammatical categories of the Bulgarian verb system, in particular. They go on to outline his theoretical views on orthography and the normativisation of Bulgarian spelling, emphasising his exceptional contribution to this area. Finally, the authors discuss Prof. Andreychin’s contributions to the study of the history of Modern Standard Bulgarian.
