Offering incentives is a survey research best practice; however, little is known about what kind of incentives college students, a frequently sampled population for health research, prefer. To fill this gap, N=415 undergraduates took a web-based survey with four incentive options. Cross-tabulation analyses with the chi-square statistic and Cramer’s V were used to compare incentive selection by demographic variables. Participants most commonly selected e-gift cards to Amazon and a popular coffee chain; incentive preferences varied based on demographics. Providing incentive choice and considering the preferences of specific priority populations may help to increase web-based survey response rates among college students.
