The article describes an experience in combining the cultural-historical and mnemonic approaches to the study of monuments of classical architecture using as an example the ancient Roman Pantheon. The author intentionally chose this well-studied monument, which is still largely mysterious when considered in a wide spatio-temporal context. The article tells about the structures located near the Pantheon and the historical events that influenced their life, about the symbolism of certain moments in their biography, and about other cultural phenomena that have an indirect connection with the concept of “pantheon”.
