This study aims to assess and map potential mamar in the Amarasi area of Kupang regency - East Nusa Tenggara Province. The method of determining the sample used in the study is intentional (purposive) with the consideration that the area is a dominant area of dry land and has a specific farm, namely Mamar. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation techniques, interview techniques and GIS analysis. The results showed that the potential of mamar as a traditional farming system that has a (ecological) conservation function in maintaining the preservation of the spring ecosystem, the economic function of the community / mamar farmers, and social functions, namely the presence of main plants as facilities and springs as places / containers unifying and resolving conflicts in society. While the area of mamar varies between 5-10 ha, the upstream area (water catchment) is used as a conservation area / cover area (core area) for a spring protection system with a low level of plant density, and in the future it is necessary to develop the mamar to be integrated with the development of tourism into agro-tourism so that in the end is a multiplayer effect to improve the community's economy.
