As a cognitive phenomenon, metaphor is frequently used in political texts, which have been gradually standardized and characterized in China in recent years. Appropriate metaphors can better convey political information and express political stance. Therefore, the accurate translation of metaphor is of great importance. It can not only help to improve the effect of publicity, but also contribute to the construction of national discourse. Based on the bilingual version of the Report on the Work of the Government 2020 (RWG), this study discusses the translation strategies of metaphors in political texts, so as to provide references for the translation of political texts, thereby improving the publicity efficiency and promoting the construction of national discourse.
