This study describes Identity Politics in Indonesia which was used as a strategy to win the Regional Head Election (PILKADA) in North Maluku Province in 2013. The main issues discussed are: The strategy of Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK) and Muhammad Natsir Thaib (Manthab) to make Identity Politics as a means of winning the 2013 North Maluku Regional Election. The research was conducted in Ternate City, with qualitative approach with a combination of case study research. Data retrieval with in-depth interviews and searches of written documents. The results of this study showed that the factors of ketokohan, ethnicity, strong network (with ustad branding), symbols and imaging are the determining factors of victory. In addition, the consolidation of the network of figures, building opinions, and marketing (direct selling) politics contributed to the maximum victory of the AGK Pair - Manthab.
