The present research was aimed at developing complex model characteristics and regulatory requirements for qualified athletes based on somatic and functional indicators of special working capacity and establishing individualization criteria for improving the training process. It has been established that when recruiting combined teams and selecting athletes for sports improvement groups, preference should be given to swimmers with high body length values, with higher functional capabilities, since they have a greater potential to demonstrate high sports achievements
