The article is devoted to the issues of reimbursement of expenses for the maintenance of persons sentenced to imprisonment in civil proceedings. We analyze the practice of correctional institutions appealing to the courts of general jurisdiction with claims for reimbursement of expenses for the maintenance of persons sentenced to imprisonment. We conclude that the practice of reimbursement of expenses for the maintenance of convicted persons in civil proceedings has a positive trend
