The article deals with the features of interaction officials of pretrial investigation bodies (investigators, patrol investigator of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation) with the staff of operational units of the Federal Penal Service of Russia in the investigation of fraud committed by convicts in correctional institutions using cellular communication (cell phones). According to the results of a comprehensive study, the authors identify a number of problems that prevent the effective interaction of officials of the Federal Penal Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia such as: disinterest in the results of joint activities due to the inconsistency of a number of tasks resolved by each law enforcement agency; the absence at the level of territorial bodies of subjects of interdepartmental orders on cooperation; poor awareness of officials of pretrial investigation bodies of opportunities and volumes of the help by field officers of FPS of Russia at investigation of the frauds committed by condemned with use of cellular communication. Organizational and legal solutions are proposed for all the problems considered in the article. Also in the article the typical forms of interaction of officials in the investigation of fraud in correctional institutions are formulated taking into account the current legislation and the emerging law enforcement practice.
