The article deals with the notion ―research and learning activity of the students‖. The organization and coordination of students’ activity in carrying out individual projects as a part of academic discipline - History of preschool education‖ are described in it. The phases of students’ work on their projects are represented and evaluation criteria of executed individual research projects are defined in the article. The problems of readiness of future preschool teachers to research activity are analyzed.
