В статье рассматривается процесс освоения творческого наследия Ко-ста Хетагурова осетинским общественным и литературным сознанием; выявляетсяего значение для осетинской, северокавказской и российской художественной литера-туры и публицистики; дается общий обзор комплекса наиболее симптоматичных суж-дений о личности и творчестве К.Л. Хетагурова, принадлежащих крупным деятелямосетинской и российской науки и культуры; фиксируются важнейшие моменты хетагу-роведения с указанием их общественно-исторических и культурно-идеологических осно-ваний; с учетом исторической динамики хетагуроведения и актуальной филологическойпроблематики предлагается критический очерк его главных современных положений итенденций. The article examines the process of assimilation of the creative heritage of Kosta Khetagurov by the Ossetianpublic and literary consciousness; it reveals the signifi cance of his heritage for the Ossetian, North Caucasian andRussian fi ction and journalism; it shows us a general overview of the complex of the most symptomatic judgments aboutthe personality and work of K.L. Khetagurov, belonging by prominent fi gures of Ossetian and Russian science and culture;the most important moments of Khetagurov studies are recorded, indicating their socio-historical, cultural and ideologicalfoundations; taking into account the historical dynamics of Khetagurov studies and current philological problems, a criticaloutline of its main modern positions and tendencies is offered.
