Government of Nepal declared full phase lockdown on March 24, 2020, that lasted for 120 days for prevention of COVID-19 outbreak. The shutdown of educational centers was followed out as a measure to break the chain of transmission. Children and adolescents are forced to spend most time indoors. The uncertainty of resuming schools and colleges is leading them to a high level of stress and anxiety. Children and adolescents of this era binge on digital stuff which has not only increased access to digital devices but also risks them in a rapid rise in screen time and this has dramatically escalated during the lockdown period. Playing digital games have increasingly become a ubiquitous leisure activity among children and adolescents. Lack of physical activity, outdoor sports, and limited social interactions are also affecting their mental health. Staying social on social media platforms is used as a coping mechanism against stress. The unpredictable changes have had a great impact on children and adolescents. This pandemic has highlighted the urge to focus on health and sensible strategies and manage screen time to improve quality of life.
