— Digitalization is an integral part of society and there is no doubt that modern society is in the midst of digitalization. In all areas of social life there is a wide range of different practices that are subject to digital change. The Internet and social media platforms have changed the way we receive information and experience entertainment, communicate. The objectives of this paper are to show specific dimensions of the advent of digitization and the various technologies in the Bulgarian society. The empirical basis of this article is based on results obtained from an online survey conducted in March 2021 with people of different ages, occupations and education. The survey questionnaire included topics that directly relate to the digitalization of society, the use of various digital devices and the Internet, participation in online education and attitudes towards it Keywords—digitalization, modern society, digital competence, digital skills, Bulgaria.
