The problem of reconstruction and modernization of manufacturing equipment for the production of large diameter pipes was considered in this paper. To assess the strength and the technical resource of the equipment was used mathematical modeling based on the experimental results and consistent solution of nonlinear boundary value problem of the elasticity theory. The results of solution for the tube cold mill, which were used for design of the new equipment, are given
