This study, which deals with the concept of Postmodern and its elements, which has been written and discussed since the last quarter of the 20th century, aims to discuss the relationship between postmodernism and translation studies in general terms. While trying to reveal this, the conceptual foundations of the term postmodern and the effects of the postmodern movement when it comes to translation are discussed. In addition, it is also a matter of debate which postmodern approaches allow for the emergence of methodological approaches in translation studies. While postmodernism's effects on literature and then on translation studies are discussed in the context of cultural translation, feminist translation, ethical and sociological translation, the fact that the death of the author marks the birth of the reader-translator reveals the translator with his individual and social characteristics. Thus, while the main purpose of the present study is to discuss the effects of postmodernism in translation studies on an abstract level; There is an intention to act as a compass for the studies to be carried out on a concrete level. As a result, the theoretical approaches in the aforementioned translation studies are briefly discussed, and a descriptive study is made on the existing ones, and small-scale suggestions are made.
