With this research, it is aimed to examine the attitudes of social studies teacher candidates towards the teaching profession and their professional self-esteem in terms of various variables. In this context, the gender, class, age, type of high school graduated from social studies teacher candidates, whether you chose the teaching profession, the status of being a teacher of social studies and their attitudes towards teaching profession and their professional self-esteem. It is tried to determine whether or not it has effect. The study group of the research consisted of 200 social studies teacher candidates studying at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. The data of the study were collected, with the "Occupational Self-Esteem Scale" developed by Arıcak (1999) and the "Teaching Profession Attitude Scale" developed by Çetin (2006), in the 2017-2018 academic year . The obtained data were tabulated and interpreted by performing the necessary statistical analysis via IBM SPSS 24.0 program. In the study, there is a positive, low-level and significant relationship between teacher candidates' attitudes towards the teaching profession and their professional self-esteem, It has been determined that teacher candidates who willingly chose teaching profession have higher professional self-esteem.
