The paper is to compare profitability of a group of farmers participated into big rice field program and of a group of farmers not participate in the program in Can Tho and Soc Trang province. A total of 170 farmers were personally interviewed for a record of costs, revenues, and profits of a main crop in 2015. The results show that farmers joining the program are more profitable compared to their counterparts. The result is robust to regression analysis. Farmers participating in the program in Can Tho were found to be more profitable than farmers joining the program in Soc Trang. In addition, factors affecting profitability are also examined.
