Archiwum Państwowe w Lublinie. Oddział w Chełmie w latach 1952–2017

W artykule przedstawiono dzieje Archiwum Państwowego w Lublinie Oddział w Chełmie, biorąc pod uwagę zarówno zagadnienia organizacyjne i administracyjne (np. problemy lokalowe), jak też te jak najbardziej istotne dla funkcjonowania każdego archiwum, dotyczące wartości przechowywanych w nim materiałów archiwalnych. Zaprezentowano kadrę kierowniczą chełmskiego archiwum. Skupiono się na wykonywanych przez pracowników zadaniach, obrazując sposób ich realizacji przykładami i danymi liczbowymi. Najwięcej uwagi poświęcono zasobowi archiwalnemu, zwłaszcza jego zawartości pod kątem aktotwórców. Następnie skoncentrowano się na wykorzystaniu zasobu, czyli m.in. jego udostępnianiu w czytelni do celów naukowych oraz poprzez kwerendy z urzędów czy od osób indywidualnych z kraju i zagranicy. W ramach popularyzacji wiedzy o archiwach oraz zasobie archiwalnym przywołano tematy wystaw archiwalnych realizowanych na przestrzeni 70 lat, jak również zaznaczono udział chełmskiego archiwum w akcji „Noc Kultury”, która jest przedsięwzięciem realizowanym w ostatnich latach. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na szczególną rolę archiwum, zasobu archiwalnego, archiwistów w życiu nie tylko mieszkańców Chełma i okolic, ale również osób z innych części kraju, jak i z zagranicy. The Lublin State Archives Branch in Chełm in 1952–2017The article presents the history of the Lublin State Archives Branch in Chełm with respect to both organizational and administrative issues (e.g. problems of housing the Archives) and also the ones that are important for the functioning of all archives, i.e. concerning the value of the stored archival materials. The managing personnel of the Chełm Archives were also presented. The article focuses on the tasks implemented by the personnel, illustrating the way of their implementation by examples and figures. The greatest attention was devoted to the archival holdings, especially their contents regarding the records creators. The authors then focused on the use of the archival holdings i.e. inter alia, on their availability in the reading room for scientific purposes and through archival research ordered by offices or individuals from Poland and abroad. As part of the popularization of the knowledge on archives and archive holdings the subjects of the archival exhibitions held within 70 years were presented. The presence of the Chełm Archives at ‘Noc Kultury’ [The Night of Culture], which is an event organized in recent years was also emphasized. The article pointed out the special role of the Archives, archival holdings, and archivists in the life of not only the residents of Chełm and its vicinity but also people from other parts of Poland and abroad.
