With different approximate methods are estimated the
values of the area of the fault, of the dislocation, of the stress drop and of
the seismic moment of the Friuli earthquake of May 6th, 1976. Some considerations
follow on the possibility to forecast the earthquake and on its
relation to the subsequent event of September 11th
