 A 32-year-old female patient had been operated  in another center with diagnosis of hydatid cyst in the left lung in 1998. A gradually increasing pain had begun in the left upper thoracic region since one month in the patient who had an unproblematic postoperative period. Her physical examination done after her admission to our hospital revealed a thoracotomy scar on the left and normal respiratory sounds. Laboratory findings were also normal. Posteroanterior chest graphy revealed a foreign body in the upper zone of the left lung (Image 1). Computed tomography of the chest was obtained in order to better visualize the localizaiton of the foreign body. A convex linear echogen formation measuring approximately 25 mm (surgical needle) was seen neighbouring to fissure of superior segment of the lower lobe of the left lung (Image 2).
