Human hydatid cyst is a zoonotic infection that usually attacks visceral organs. Primary soft tissue involvement is very rare, causing a diagnostic challenge. We present a rare case of primary muscular hydatidosis in the right thigh of a 43 year-old man, who presented with painless mass. Hydatid disease should be included in the differential diagnosis of muscular masses, regardless of its location, especially in endemic areas
