Angular distribution of fluorescence from phytoplankton

The angular distribution of fluorescence for several natural oceanic phytoplankton cultures was measured in the laboratory. Of the six cultures examined, only Dunaliela tertiolecta exhibited measurable anisotropy. The anisotropy in this case was ~20%.
