Two‐layer models and multilevel temperature models are compared for simulating internal oscillations in Radunia Lake, Poland, and calculations on a two‐dimensional horizontal grid covering the lake are compared with one‐dimensional calculations applied to a longitudinal section of the lake. Effects of the free surface, rotation, depths, and density gradients on the periods of thermocline oscillations are evaluated.
