A core from Mirror Lake (New Hampshire) was analyzed in detail for 210 Pb and other members of the uranium decay series. The core shows periods of episodic redistribution and deposition of contemporaneously deposited indigenous lake sediment to the site interspersed with periods of constant sediment accumulation at an average rate of 0.16 cm·yr −1 . 226 Ra does not provide a reasonable chronometric tool in this lake.
