Five sediment traps with collecting areas ranging from 8 to 1,465 cm 2 collected the same amount of material, as measured by dry weight, ash weight, and phosphorus content, on a unit area basis. Variances from different size traps were not significantly different. These results are presented as further illustration that traps are a meaningful technique for measuring sedimentation in certain lakes.
